A SKU vs a commission
Kindred's bet is that restomods can be products: fixed, well-engineered specs, repeatable quality from its Vallejo plant, a credible EV line delivering since 2025, and showrooms rolling out through dealer partners. It is a genuinely new model for the segment, and for a buyer who wants to walk in, drive one, and order the same thing, it works.
Monarch's bet is the opposite: that at this price the buyer wants their truck, not the truck. Every Monarch is a single-owner commission on a brand-new aluminum body, specified detail by detail with the team in Grayslake, Illinois, with a GM V8 from 430 to 650 hp.
The vehicles themselves
Kindred does not build Defenders, and Monarch does not build Broncos, Buses, or Camaros. Price-wise they meet in the low-to-mid $200,000s: Kindred's gas Bronco from about $199,000 and its EV from $225,000, against Monarch's published $250,000 to $350,000 band with a two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Where Kindred is the better fit
Choose Kindred for a standardized, dealer-supported restomod, or for its EV line. Choose Monarch when the point is a classic Defender no one else has: bespoke, new-body, and built to your name.
