Build Process Inquiries
How long does a bespoke Land Rover Defender build take?+
A complete zero-hour restoration and custom build typically takes between 6 to 12 months. This timeline ensures our master craftsmen can meticulously execute every phase of our 12-stage process, from bare-metal chassis preparation to the final hand-stitched leather interior.
Can I supply my own donor vehicle for restoration?+
No. Monarch builds every vehicle ground-up from our own donor, so we don't perform restorations on client-supplied vehicles. If you own a Defender, we may accept it as trade-in credit toward a new Monarch build. Contact our team to discuss.
What engine options do you offer for custom builds?+
We specialize in modern, high-performance powertrain integrations. Our most requested configurations include the GM LT1 and LS3 V8 engines, paired with heavy-duty automatic transmissions, providing modern reliability and staggering power while maintaining the classic Defender aesthetic.
